I have only tried to scan sheet music a few times, but when I did I had a messy result with lots of dashes between sylables, and garbage when the OCR package tried to scan the music. I attend a Church of Christ noninstrumental, and the publisher provided me a CD of the hymn words. Perhaps the PCUSA headquarters in Louisville, KY could help you.
