o.k. I won't argue. smile--chapter notes, then, or bibliographic notes. On the other hand, suppose we think of a book as having a beginning and an end, or a front and a back, or a head and a foot...then....? I do prefer them at the end rather than at the bottom of the page when they are bibliographic but I like them at the bottom of the page when they are explanatory. When validating, btw, I don't usually bother validating the notes at the end of the main text, though I do the ones at the bottom of the pages, or bibliographies or indices. I do glance at them and figure they are usable as they are, but I offer, in the long synopsis, to get the book and do them if the reader needs me to. So far no one has requested that.
