Okay, I will be doing my first book in recent history with many footnotes.
Hoping Judy or someone else can help clarify some things. From the Volunteer
section on the website
(https://www.bookshare.org/cms/help-center/how-format-footnotes-and-endnotes)
"IN THE TEXT
• Make sure there is a space before and after the number or asterisk in the text
• Do not add in an asterisk if there is a number
• Numbers may be super or subscripted; whichever is in the original text
• If there is a dagger (†), replace it with an asterisk (or if there are two,
with two asterisks)
FOOTNOTES
• Place the footnote information at the bottom of the page in square brackets
• Both the information and the corresponding number or asterisk should be
inside the brackets
• Example: [1. Library of Congress]”
First, is this indeed the current standard for footnotes?
Second, If my footnotes are all death with in pages and pages and pages at the
end of the book, am I correct in assuming we are not to alter the text by
inserting them at the bottom of the pages?
Thanks!
Valerie
