Hi, Bobbie, I don't know what, if any, the preferred form is. Jake's hints might have something. But here's what I do: Because I started working with Project Gutenberg, I put the footnotes numbers in parentheses after the sentence if I can. But I admit that if the book is long and boring to me and I don't want to read it as I usually do, I leave them as they are and let the reader do whatever he/she wants to do with them. I don't beleive we're required to do anything, but if I'm actually reading the book as I validate, which I do most often, then I do what I've described above. If there aren't too many, and they have scanned as very small, I will make them raise them (format, file, font). You may want to wait to hear from Gerald or Jake, though. smile Welcome to our volunteer group. smile Cindy --- Bobbie Hughes <hughebo@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi folks, > I haven't been validating long and am wondering if > any of you can give me > a suggestion about what to do with footnotes.
