I haven't heard the word "fidonet" for quite some time. That takes me back.Cindy was correct in her obseervation that E has in fact mellowed over time. I have noticed this myself since my joining the list in early 2006. I think that back then, Bookshare's policy was more along the lines that we are all grownups here.
You didn't hear me say that last part. <grin> Evan----- Original Message ----- From: "Soronel Haetir" <soronel.haetir@xxxxxxxxx>

So the list does in fact cater to the most brittle members. I would have preferred something closer to the fidonet rule: Do not be excessively annoying, do not be excessively annoyed. My own exposure to the list has led me to a real appreciation of how mucheach one of you has to share. Collectively you have taken this platform and helped create a unique and deep-rooted sense of community among Bookshare's members and volunteers. We hope the objectives and guidelines put forward in this mail will help us address posts that have a detrimental effect on thatsense of community.
