Sorry, Pavi, but I do not see any guidelines or policy listed on this post.
It must not have been sent.

Hi All,

Thank you for the discussion on this topic. It is clear that it evokes
strong responses across the spectrum from many people and I believe that in
hearing the different viewpoints we each gain a better understanding of the
bigger picture. People have different styles, take what you hear on this
list with a grain of salt and don't take it personally are great takeaways.
And so is: It doesn't hurt and definitely helps our common goals when you
try to take into consideration how other people might feel about the nature
and tone of what you say.

"Do not be excessively annoying, do not be excessively annoyed," is a great
way to put it. And I don't think anyone on the list needs to worry about
Bookshare catering excessively to the most brittle members. Each of us on
this list is in a sense a guardian of this platform, and we contribute here
in different ways to the Bookshare experience of fellow volunteers.

Our role as staff is not to take a heavy handed approach when responding to
people's reports, but simply when something is brought to our attention, as
per the policies outlined below, to let volunteers know if some of their
posts are creating negative ripples among volunteers in the community and to
remind them of the guidelines and ultimate objectives of these lists.

I will not be responding to this subject on the list any further, but if you
have suggestions or questions regarding any of this you are welcome to write
to me off-list at pavim@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Warm regards,

Pavi

And the problem with catering to the most brittle members is that one never
knows what will set them off. It creates a situation known as walking on
eggshells.

                                                                 "The end
may justify the means as long as there is something that justifies the end.

So the list does in fact cater to the most brittle members.

I would have preferred something closer to the fidonet rule:
Do not be excessively annoying, do not be excessively annoyed.
