Hi, Monica, I was one of those weird kids who loved reading plays in Braille
as I could pretend to be all the characters. I agree with you, let there be
drama and let it be accessible. How in blazes do they expect blind or
disabled actors to learn their parts? You can and must memorize them
eventually, but you must have a script to read. Regards, Kim.

Those footnotes and the historical information are probably still under
copyright. The copyright law exemption that helps us was written so that
people couldn't get access to plays where any part of the material is under
copyright because people in the drama field lobbied hard for it. It doesn't
make much sense to me since disabled people should be able to read and use
plays too. All I can say is that the MPAA and similar groups have more
political muscle than we do.
If I wanted to read a play, I'd scan and read it anyway. I just wouldn't be
able to submit it.
The one bright note here is that some individual publishers are granting us
full access to the plays they publish. I'm thankful that they're willing to
help us.
