There were egg shells on Tire Island this morning. No geese around. Seems too
soon for them to hatch. I’m guessing nest failure. Dickcissel has been regular
here for several days, flying from T-post to T-post along front/middle field
border. Near Front Field Pond I got about a 4 second look at a thrush near the
base of a tree before it flew high and out of sight in foliage. I could see
that it had an eye ring, light frontal streaks and an olive back. Matched only
Swainson’s Thrush, but with no picture, I’m not filing an eBird report
mentioning it.
