It’s been about 45 degrees with a slight mist falling all day here. Despite
that, Alison and I made a front field circle both morning and afternoon. On the
afternoon walk, there were at least 75 Cedar Waxwings chilling out in a dead
sassafras near big barn. Some of them were still hanging out there by the time
we passed the same spot on the way back to the house. Maybe they take off early
on Fridays. I called a flycatcher at middle pond an Eastern Phoebe. The images
I got of it were awful, but I did observe it pumping its tail. Probably too
early for other flycatchers anyway.
