I did a quick poll earlier this year...here's the spreadsheet with the
results. We ended up signing with Follett Destiny as well, but Alexandria
was a very close second. I REALLY loved Alexandria's hands-on sales rep and
the interface of the product, but ultimately picked Follett because I know
so many BAISL members use it and I have my own built in place to come for
support and ideas!

Hi all,
I am new to basil and am excited to get feedback from all of you if you
have the time. My name is David and I fell into the position of the
librarian when our former librarian decided to move on.
I am looking for a new library system as the one we have is old and I no
longer get tech help. I cannot use the checkmarc app as the system is old
and I cannot update it.
The current system in use is the L4U and my computer is a MacOSX, 10.6.8;
(I think I need a new desktop as well). We have approximately 8,200 books
in our stacks.
So, what system would you recommend? Would I be able to transfer my
library file over to the new system?
I will have more questions I'm sure but thank you for your response and
hope to hear from you soon.
