The link with the map (http://towerfts.csbf.nasa.gov/GoogleMaps/ConvGps.htm)
calls it HASP Flight #600N. That stands for "High Altitude Student Payload,
and it's described on this site, that has had blog updates today. It was
launched from Fort Sumner, NM.

http://laspace.lsu.edu/hasp/

It landed a in the desert a few miles south of I-10 near the exit for Salome
Road.

My efforts to view it were ruined by one growing cloud. I saw it for all of 30
seconds.
