Just picked it up out here in New River, thanks to your alert! 6:50 pm, still about 30 degrees up, but due east from New River. Looks like it will pass directly over Phoenix. No idea how much longer it'll catch sun. To the naked eye it was visibly teardrop shaped. In 10x80 binocs it was lit up like a Christmas tree ornament, with the payload also visible as a very bright point. It was pretty easy to see before it passed behind a cloud. This one is going to get pretty close to Phoenix. > > Tom > > > > > Subject: Another balloon heading our way > > From: Brian Skiff <bas@xxxxxxxxxx> > > To: staff@xxxxxxxxxx, tpolakis@xxxxxxx, m24@xxxxxxx > > Date: Fri, 11 Sep 2009 14:58:27 -0700 > > > > Backy Ramotowski in New Mexico sent a head's up about another > > stratospheric balloon heading our way.
