Jon, Do you mean that we should leave some blank paragraphs after each heading? Melanie, Unfortunately, the document isn't mine and the problem is worse when we cross reference to bookmarks because: - some of the authors don't realise that there is a bookmark and include the heading in that, or - the bookmark is not put over any text, so there is no text to pull into the launch site. (This method of inserting bookmarks is the author's favourite and she's a much more experienced tech writer than me.) Thanks for your advice though. -----Original Message----- From: Jon Glasson [mailto:jon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, 8 August 2003 9:03 To: austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [austechwriter] Re: Can anyone help with some numbers? Janet - this is not an indication that the file is corrupt. This behaviour occurs if you edit a heading then press return and start entering text, which of course it is allmost impossible to avoid doing. Try and get in the habit of putting a few blank returns in after all headings, but it is especially important to ensure they exist before including a heading in a cross-ref.
