That is the big controversy between psychologist and psychiatrist. This very
topic was brought up in my Abnormal Psych class last semester. However, with
that being said my professor also said that there is talk going around about
letting psychologist write scripts instead of referring them on to
psychiatrist, but it would involve more schooling and so forth. My Childhood
Psychopathologies Professor brought up the fact of overmedicating as well
and she speculates that the big problem is pediatricians are diagnosing
based on a questionnaire without any further testing before writing them a
script.
I will have to check that book out. Is Saving Normal available on BARD or
Bookshare?

He is slightly hyper, but he is also a boy so I would not say he is more
hyper than any other boy his age. There are some other concerns that are
taken into consideration when making the choice to hold off right now.

I've been drinking it black from day one. Suggest you offer him a bit on a
Saturday and see if it cures him of his wanting it or if he takes to coffee.
I don't think having a bit now and then would hurt unless he's a wee bit
hyper active to begin with?

He asks for coffee routinely, but I believe that is because my wife tells
him he can't have it. If she gave it to him freely then he probably would
say he didn't like it. I know as a kid I hated the stuff, but now I drink it
quite regularly. The only way I like it is black. My wife drinks what I call
candy coffee because she puts cream and sugar in her coffee.

Maybe just a little, but you would never go hungry as long as you had a
endless supply of graham crackers.
Look I need some recipes that are free of milk, eggs, and wheat. Found out
today that the little guy is allergic to the above mentioned items. Any
recipes or ideas of substitutes would be greatly appreciated. We found him a
can of chili for dinner, but it will not make a good meal every time,
especially for breakfast *LOL*.
