Yes it should be a new record. The old record is 47.81 mph. My flight was
60.91 mph adjusted for handicap of .95. It was not a fast flight as I flew
way off course going down to some cumulus over Virginia City which only
produced moderate lift. On the way back had to fly way to the West off
course because of the OD everywhere.Even flew West of Topaz Lake ! All in
all a very fun flight. At the end of the flight made a yo yo and watched a
massive thunderstorm over Fernley with lightning strikes about every 5 to
10 minutes !!!
We had to launch way too early for water ballast and you did a great job
hanging in there till conditions improved.
We should thank Stoney for letting us launch early.
