At the field yesterday one pilot asked me if I know of any landing areas
near Mono Lake. The only two I have in my way points list are.
River Springs N 37 55 00 W 118 37 00
Big Sand Flat N 37 52 21 W 118 53 45
I know gliders have landed ok at these two spots and retrieved an ASW 17
from the Big Sand Flat landing spot in the dark one night. The landing at
River Springs the pilot spent the night in his glider. Cell service is
still pretty weak in this area. Near Benton and further South there are
farmers fields which are landable depending on crops and sprinklers
.Another field further North is Nichols Ranch N 37 56 30 W 118 20 53
