I think you are the about the only one to make Mt Shasta in about three
years. It is a rare day when it is possible. NO PHOTO. Now you have to go
back!

Omri it sounds like you had an Epic struggle to make MT Shasta ! We do
get 16000 ft days up there at times. Did you get any pictures ?

There was a little bad luck going around yesterday also. Jimmy got off tow
in the same place where I did ten minutes before in good lift only to find
a dieing thermal. Ben had a flat tire and had to de rig on the runway after
landing. I hope Ben will come back and join us again soon as he is an
excellent young pilot.

The whole area around Mono Lake blew up at 2:30 and I had to fly up to 100
Kts to avoid getting sucked into clouds several times. Had the wings iced
up on the PIK and escaped the area flying between showers near Mt Grant.
Saw several lightning flashes. Scary !. Returning to Air Sailing at about
5:00 the airport was under threat from cells to the North and South. I felt
100 to 150 more points would have been possible but chose to play it safe
and land with the threat from thunder storms.

Leaving the airfield I saw at least four fire trucks headed North on
Winnemucca Ranch road right at the Air Sailing field turn off. Does any one
know what happened ?
