Dear Graeme,

The reason DCC SG moved to a fairly intensive grey step wedge is that of
neutrality and linearization. Additionally, the grey wedge is arranged to be
compact to minimize light unevenness and differences in flare across it.

The reasons why I do not use -as are neutrality issues, and generally shaper
curve (-aS) tends to result in plugged and noisy shadows. However the damage to
shadows may be due to how colorsync interprets the shaper curves.
