[arachne] Soundblaster 16

Arachne at FreeLists---The Arachne Fan Club!
Attempting to install Soundblaster 16 isa sound card. In dos, blaster.exe
spits out correct
parameters. Another utility also gives parameters for the card. Drivers load
for card. No
sound is emitted at all. Long time ago thought someone mentioned that
soundblasters need to
be intitialized or sound is set to zero on card. Am I on the right track?
Tried card on OS/2 and Linux. Players go through motion of playing file,
drivers load, again
no sound. If drivers load and card is recognized that means card is functional?
