I would use the double thick on the back as well. I do lots of bowling
shirt names on the back and always use double cutaway.

I'm putting a 11" wide name on the back of a dress/work button down shirt.
Its above the yoke were it is double thick. I'm using two layers of 2oz cut away on the left chest, but, that seems like it would be real heavy on the back.
