Try to change the start and stop points (drag the little in and out arrows to a different location) I have a feeling that the underlay isn't tacking down the sweatshirt material in the middle and as it sew down it pushes excess material in front of it and then as it jumps down and sews up it pushes excess material towards the middle where it meets the existing stitches and has no where to go leaving a gap that my guess would say maybe sticks up a bit? if you change the exit and entry points it will sew in a different order and direction and maybe you can get around that try starting and stopping at opposite sides of each other. Hope it makes sense and helps a little.
