A couple of thoughts --

Check the bobbin casing, take out the bobbin, clean the case with a =
business
card under the spring, blow canned air through the bobbin,

Double check that you are putting the bobbin in the bobbin case the =
correct
direction.

Using a flashlight inspect the area of the arm where the bobbin goes, =
using
the flashlight sometimes it will reflect the light differently so that =
you
can see some thread that need to be cleaned out. Check behind the =
bobbin
case area also.

On the thread that is not picking up, check to make sure the needle is =
not
in backwards.

Make sure the needle plate is centered.

The manual can give you specifics on all the above much better than I =
can.

If it's any consulation, I've had to "correct" all the above problems. =

Subject: [amayausers] Dead in the water

Hi,
2 hours and still can not get my Amaya to sew more than 3 seconds.

Here are my stats:
  =20
Machine: 2 weeks old Amaya XT.
Designs: Has done maybe 4-5 all with thread breaks, bobbin breaks, =
needle
breaks.
Material: Polo shirt with two layers of backing in 5.25" hoop
  =20
  Issue:
Tried Needle head #1, sews maybe 5 seconds and thread or bobbin break.
After this happened about 10 times the needle broke. replaced needle. =
now
the tread just comes out of the needle hole. Does not seem to catch the
bobbin. Tried playing with the bobbin tension, replaced bobbin tread =
with
new bobbin, and no luck.

Tried needle head #8, same issue, bobbin and thread breaks, then after =
maybe
8 times the needle broke. =20

Tried: =20
Replaced Thread (New ARC thread poly)
Replaced needles (1 and 8) and turn 5 degrees to the right. (75/11 BP =
in
all slots)
Checked tread path
Put in new bobbin
Cleaned bobbin case
Adjusted bobbin tension, (looser, slightly tighter) instead bobbin =
until
it clicked and left 2" of bobbin hanging out to the right. Looks like a
spider slowing going down if you hold it in your hand. placed in so it
looks like a #9 and unwinds clockwise.
 =20
Adjusted pressure foot (3 up from all the way down, it is just a hair =
about
the shirt fabric)
Centered needle- removed needle plate, centered and tighted.
Oiled hook and spun.
Blew out the need hook area, checked for thread mess.
ActiFeed set to 5 and also tried 6

Any ideas?

Thanks,
  Steve
