That is probably a good tool to have but I haven't been able to figure out how 
it works.  I bought one once with a few other items I thought would be handy 
but never figured out how it's intended to be used.  But you did give me a good 
idea to Google what I've been describing and I found what I talking about with 
LuAnn.

It's called a "Snag Nab It" by Dritz.  Here is a link to a pictue of it.

A similar device is a "Dritz Knit Picker" - google this and you can see  a 
picture.  It should be available at your local fabric stores and/or fabric 
areas of Walmart, etc. It allows you to pull a thread to the back of a garment.

    I don't recall the official name but I know that it IS intended for pushing 
"pulled" threads to the backside of the garment.  I'm sure any sewing supply 
place would carry them.  It's about three inches long.  It is a shiny silver 
color.  And looks like an oversized stick pin without a head.
