This is how i save great posts for future reference.

Question: Does the word "free" appear anywhere in the unamended Constitution?
Why, or why not?

Philadelpha...

hey thank you me and a friend of mine have been talking about this for awhile
now trying to really figure it out. I knew it was a big difference but couldnt
really explain why except theyre only supposed to represent a certain number of
constituents in congress and no more as far as representatives and knew that
somehow it isn;t the majority rules situation but since it seems like it is I
couldn't tell her why and this explained it clearly and makes sense and now i
can show it to my friend too, thank you.

America is a Republic. Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution states, “The
United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of
Government.” Yet many people often mistakenly refer to America as a democracy.
One of the most glaring examples of this misperception was made by Hilary
Clinton in a debate with Donald Trump, when she accused him of “talking down
our democracy.” In a democracy, all laws and decisions of government are made
by the majority. This is not how the United States is governed.

The key difference between a democracy and a republic lies in the limits placed
on those in the government by the law. In a republic there exists a
constitution, or charter of rights, to protect certain inalienable rights that
cannot be taken away— even if a majority of voters demand it. For Americans
these protections include individual, minority, and states rights. In a “pure
democracy,” the majority is not restrained in this way and can impose its will
on any group with less votes. Most modern nations are viewed under the
definition of a democratic republic with a constitution, which can be amended
by a popularly elected government. The comparison below, therefore, contrasts
the form of government in most countries today with a historical description of
a democracy. This is done with the purpose of emphasizing the features of the
republic we enjoy today.

The Framers of the Constitution were altogether fearful of pure democracy.
Everything they read and studied taught them that pure democracies “have ever
been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible
with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as
short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths” (Federalist No.
10).

That said, some states allow for policy questions to be decided directly by the
people by voting on ballot initiatives or referendums. Since the Founders did
not provide for national ballot initiatives or referendums suggests that the
Framers’ opposed such processes of democracy. They were not confident that the
people had the time, wisdom or level-headedness to make complex decisions, such
as those that are often presented on ballots on election day.

of Independence Hall in the National Park system gives it the highest possible

Furthermore, as the country’s most important historical site, its preservation

I have heard rumors of which you speak but it is not true...also I have heard
that the PA Supreme Court is superior to the USSC...also untrue to the best of
my knowledge.

The federal govt NEVER owned any land until the 10 miles square was set up on
paper and even then, Virginia welched on her end of the deal and never turned
over her land.  Today however you can find land that was both ceded by the
state to the feds or the feds rent the land and enjoy joint jurisdiction over
it with the state....I believe some of our army posts are in this situtation....

I have read of a case where a highway runs through federal land and state had
joint jurisdiction with the feds.  A driver got a ticket and the attorney
fighting it was smart or clever enough to claim that the OTHER party should
claim jurisdiction over the "offense" due to something or other and did the
same with the OTHER jurisdictional entity...long story short...neither
jurisdiction prosecuted the case. Such a jurisdictional "issue" no longer
occurs due to newer guidelines.  Smart attorney!!!

has land been ceded by state to fed govt?

Phila is 10 Independence hall.

If is fed land, might mean Philadelphia is seat of The United States of America

He NEVER indicated WHAT "dollar" he is talking about, if I remember
correctly... silver, gold or FRn.  So from his perspective not a clue BUT the
Constitution states exactly what ONE Constitutional Dollar is.....and that it
would be in "grains" of silver or gold and that is the "legal" money... while
"lawful" money is the FRn's - being lawful does not make one legal..... am I
stating this correctly...or is it the opposite?
