Try sending a blank e-mail with the following in the address field but not
as written. I can't send the actual properly written address because the
freelist program thinks I'm sending a command and won't deliver the
message to the list. It's ridiculous that Free Lists looks for commands
in the message body when they aren't used there. I wrote out words such as
dash instead of using the mark and I wrote out the at sign as the word at
as well. I used the word dot where a period should be. You'll have to
reconstruct the proper syntax.
BlindTech dash subscribe at BlindTech dash list dot info

I believe this will subscribe you but I can't be sure. Also, Blindtech
requires you to be approved by the owner so even if you receive a message
that your subscription is pending, you may not be fully subscribed
immediately. That's one reason that, once subscribed, you should go no
mail instead of unsubscribing if you don't want to continue to receive
mail after you deal with your question.

Subject: [accesscomp] Skype talking help

I changed the subject line of this thread.

I don't know if anyone else can help on this list but if you address
questions just to me, you may not get responses you might otherwise.
As
I
said, I've never used Skipe but you might be far more likely to get
help
on a list like Blindtech. It's a rather high volume list but if you
don't
want to receive mail regularly, you can go no mail when you don't want
to
receive it.

Hi Gene, I did a google search but am not sure which one to try to
download.. There was a comment abut not using a beta version on one of
them,
and I don't want to download the wrong one either. it seems the one
Michael
Fiers sent me was skypetalking 5.10.with 12 onthe end of it, I had two
e-mails from him at that time and accidentally deleted outhis e-mail
with
the skype talking download in it, he sent me 3 at once, then David
Whitehead
sent me two, the ones I have on my computer now, which don't includ e
the
skype talking program for windows.. I don'thave an e-mail address for
Michael Fiers who originally sent me the 3 downloads for skype,
including
the skype talking download. If Ic ould contact him, which I though
hemight
see this and answer, but tried a few days ago and have notheard from
him
yet, he might could resend me the link for the skye talking download I
had
before and lost.. I assume I can go ahead and download it when I
already
have the other two, that I can just add the skype talking to the other
two..
One is the regular skype and then Jaws scripts and now Ineed skype
talking..
I just don't know how to go about doing this and need him to e-mail me
if
he
gets any of these but so far have not heard back from him.. I can't
send
him
an e-mail on hi s personal e-mail either as Ihad it on the e-mail I
accidentally deleted out.. Confused.. I just need help getting this
all
straightened out so I can get the announcements made as to when
someone
is
coming on line on skype and instant messas, I can't read them ont he
screen,
need them to be audible.. I had that in Windows messenger, surely
skype
talking has that if I can onlyfind the right download.. Thanks in
advance..

I don't use Skipe. However, I may have found what you are looking for
by
doing a google search for Skipe talking. Try it and see what you
find.
I
found what looks relevant as about the fifth result. Check the
address
on
the results page to see if you are being sent to the correct site
before
you follow the link. At times, Google searches are hacked and send
you
to
a dangerous web site. It's a good idea to check the address below
the
excerpt from the web page given in the results before following
search
result links. I'll add that I saw this problem discussed awhile ago
but
not for sometime. I assume this problem still exists.

Hi Gene, I had a question about something, not backing up a hard
drive
though, do you know how I can find the download for skype talking? I
went
up
on the skype website and did not find it.. Michael Fiers sent it to
me
with
the other skype downloads but I accidentally deleted them out and
then
David
sent it but it did not have the skype talking in it.. This is the
program
that has announcements like Windows messenger does when someone
comes
on
line if you can't see the green light by their contact name and so
on..
I
have the regular skype and the Jaws scripts installed and have tried
to
use
it but can't tell when they send instant messages and can't read
them
as
soon as they type them like you could on Windows messenger, without
skype
talking program and can't find the download on it.. sorry to bother
you,
thanks, Pat

What kind of backup do you want to do? If your intent is to do
nothing
but make copies of certain files and not update the files in the
future,
then all you need is an external hard drive. You would not need a
backup
program to do this. If your intention is to back up files and
update
them on some sort of schedule with new versions of files replacing
old
versions on some sort of automated schedule, then you will want to
use
some sort of back up program where you can schedule backups and
have
them
automated. Until we get more information, we can't recommend which
method
of backing up material would be suitable.

My Windows XP machine has about 77 gb of information I want to
backup.

I'm not an advanced computer user.

Are there some relatively simple steps to take in order to do what
I
want?
