My husband is the technie geek, me, Im just the user, but, if we can
re-arrange the room taccommodate this, would I also be able to use this to
listen to podcasts and music on my iPhone or would I only be able to use it
with my TV?

Alison, re your original question, if you are a Sky customer, you could take
advantage of their Soundbox offer. I have had it for few months now, and it
produces a truly excellent sound. It has Bluetooth to connect your mobile.
However, I do not think this is a smart speaker where you can download apps
to it. Made by Devialet and for £200/£250, it is a real bargain too. I
believe without the Sky offer this system would easily cost £400/£500 or
perhaps even more. You do not have to have Sky Q to use it. Google will give
you its exact specs but here is one review
