I don’t deny that if left to my own devices, I could be persuaded to invest in
an Amazon Echo and would fight my corner, but in truth, at this moment in time
I can’t see that it does a lot which I can’t achieve via my iPhone.
I can see it could be fun but not exactly essential.
And if the Russians are listening via Siri, they are likely to die of boredom!

It is not the Russian your husband should be worried about in this case as it
is not them who would be listening *smile*. Until this morning, I shared your
husband’s sentiment. I too did not want one of those speakers in my home,
certainly not in our bedroom! Then, while I was reading this thread earlier, it
suddenly dawned on me, that Siri has already been eavesdropping on every breath
of mine for quite a long time now *smile*. So I might as well give up.
