Hi William.

The TVonics has either or, so you can use HDMI or SCART. If you have a TV that doesn't have an HDMI socket, you're out of luck unfortunately.

All the best, Ibrahim.

William, the optical out is for an optical cable, no other cable will fit in it!

You must have an optical cable to carry the audio from one device to another. Stephens message earlier explained this pretty well!

If you want to record from the TVonics, perhaps a skart to phono cable or skart to 3.5 jack would fit the bill.

Have a wee look on Maplin, for example, for any of these type of cables. It will be possible to do what your asking though.

Darran

can you plug a phon cable and the other end in to a pc to record something from your box direct o say a hard drive in windows?

Thanks Jackie, glad to know it wasn't just me. I can only imagine the RNIB have been removing them for reasons best known to themselves, as I shouldn't think the manufacturer would send them out like that.

Hi everybody, a little question to all with the TVonics box. The optical socket should have a stopper in it to protect it. on mine it's missing. I'd
be interested to know if it's just mine or if none of them have them.
For those unacquainted with optical sockets it's under the scart, next to
the power. It should have a little plastic stopper plugged into it.
                 John.
