Well, I'm not going to try that till I'm ready to use it. Wonder how it then comes out again, perhaps as you pull the plug - but perhaps not! <Grins>

No Carol your absolutely right. Quoting from the manual

SPDIF covered with a small rubber cover (optical audio
output)
Its not a cover that you remove its a cover that pushes
inwards when you connect the appropriate cable.

In view of the fact that nobody else seems to have
theirs, I'm probably way off beam here, so don't take my
findings as absolute. I'll try to remember to get a
sighted person to check when one is available, later
next week.

If you can poke your finger nail into the hole, I would
suggest there is no protective stopper. I presume what
we are talking about is what fits into the socket on
some digital radios and CD players.

John,

I thought mine hadn't got one when I put the tip of a
finger over the hole
but then, when I gently poked a fingernail into the
hole, I could feel rubber. That's probably it, but
goodness knows how it comes out and I don't
need to know right now! <Smiles>

Hi everybody, a little question to all with the
TVonics box. The optical socket should have a stopper
in it to protect it. on mine it's missing. I'd be
interested to know if it's just mine or if none of
them have them. For those unacquainted with optical sockets it's under
the scart, next to the power. It should have a little
plastic stopper plugged into it.
John.
