Hi Jackie,
You could use the arrow keys and shift and ctrl to select a time range, but
maybe a better place to start playing around would be use the [ and ] keys
which are to the right of the letter p. You can use them to select a time range
during playback as follows:
1. press spacebar to play.
2. press [ to move the cursor to where you to start the selection.
3. press ] which selects a time range from the cursor to this position.
4. press spacebar to stop.
5. If you now press spacebar to play, only the selected time range plays.
6. press delete to delete the selected audio (assuming the track is selected,
which it is if you read it in from a file).

As I've mentioned, the Audacity4Blind list is a useful place to ask questions,
and there isn't too much traffic.

Have fun,
David.

Hi David,

Thanks to a link provided by Richard yesterday, I have been reading your
very good guide to Audacity.

So far, I have made a small recording using the BookSense in MP3 format,
copying this to Audacity.  As it is something to just play around with, I
recorded myself reading out some tweets using the BrailleSense display.
What I really want to do is edit this simple file, perhaps removing a tweet
here and there, just for the hell of it.

My question really is, can I just use the arrow keys with control and shift
etc to select what I wish to knock out, then delete it as I would in a Word
document?

If this is tedious for others, please feel free to drop me a line off list.

Many thanks.
