It is an interesting point why some of us find it difficult to hold a pen when we can perform other tasks sighted people can perform, e.g. using the keyboard, opening a purse, turning pages in a book etc. It must be some sort of visual learning in holding the pen is all I can think. I did mention cutlery but I know that I do not hold a knife and fork like a sighted person. As a child they did try teaching me but I could not learn that either. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hussein Patwa" <accessuk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Carl,I don't think it's the actual signing per say, more the spacial awareness orlack of that a blind person may have. Things like the size of the signature, direction, etc, that they cannot relate to the rest of the document as they cannot see it. I can imagine this is particularlydifficult where the signature space is boxed, and there are other boxes fordata close to it, such as on the standard application form where signature and date are side by side. There is also as some have mentioned the difficulty with handling a pen in confined spaces, although I have no personal experience of this so won't comment so as not to offend. _______________________________________ Have a pleasant day, Kind Regards and Best Wishes, Hussein.
