Hi Katherine,

Probably the moral to this story is not to buy from suppliers that hike the prices. Argos used to sell a very reasonable Zeon audio watch - £5.99 and I remember that it would last three years on the battery supplied. Not sure if they still have that product in their catalogue.

Hi all,

A mixed bunch of experiences there then. Perhaps the back of mine was
replaced the wrong way around then, but unfortunately I can't unscrew
it myself and don't have anyone around I trust enough to have a look
at it. Think I'll ask the RNIB to have a look at it, and in future I
will ask them to replace the battery. Oooooo wonder if anyone will
ever produce a solar powered tactile/talking watch?! Seems
frustrating to have to send the thing away to get a battery replaced.
And if I carry on at this rate I will waste a lot of money on
replacement watches.

Hello Catherine,

I use the RNIB talking calendar watch with the LCD display and I would say the longest I have had one before it gave up was around 2 years, sometimes
less. I like the watch as it has a timer which I use a lot for cooking,
etc.

I would be interested to hear others' experiences with talking watches.

Best wishes,
