Same here. I rely on my mobile phones and Talks to announce the time and date at the touch of a keystroke. I also rely on my computers.

I do also find that a lot of talking watches don't last long. very
irritating!

Hi,

I have one of the watches from the RNIB which is both tactile and
talking. Thought the battery was running out so took it to jeweller's
who changed it for me, and now the hands move but the talking part
doesn't work. As far as I know there is no setting to switch speech
off so I suppose there's something wrong with it, and it's just out of
warranty so a bit annoyed about that.

But this got me thinking - I haven't had any talking or tactile watch
that's lasted more than about two years. Am I just unlucky? Or do
other people find they never last long?
