That is weird. I thought the phones were set by satellite. I always believed them to be accurate. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Catherine Turner" <catherineturner2007@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Lol yes I know what you mean about the phone and I usually have mine on top speed so that's fine. On an aside though, my phone seems to have some sort of bug whereby the clock gradually gets behind. I set it according to the talking clock yesterday, but I guarantee in about 2 months' time it'll be ten minutes slow. Seems rather ridiculous in this day and age. Perhaps I need to update the firmware or something, but does that mess Talks up, bla bla bla, that's probably a subject for a different conversation. So I've given up with wearing a watch and manage with my phone alone.OK, that is hardly discreet, but no one else can understand what it says atthe top speed so that does for me. On the other hand there are times when the audio is useful e.g. when I have dirty hands or gloves on etc...ah well, if I decide the hassle isn't worth it I may look for a mainstream supplier of a talking watch. Or perhaps a tactile and talking watch in one unit is just too tricky and I should wear two! That might be an option lol Catherine On 6/10/10, Colin Fowler <col.fowler@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Hi Katherine, Probably the moral to this story is not to buy from suppliers that hike theprices. Argos used to sell a very reasonable Zeon audio watch - Ł5.99 andIremember that it would last three years on the battery supplied. Not sureif they still have that product in their catalogue. Perhaps the back of mine was replaced the wrong way around then, but unfortunately I can't unscrew it myself and don't have anyone around I trust enough to have a look at it. Think I'll ask the RNIB to have a look at it, and in future I will ask them to replace the battery. Oooooo wonder if anyone will ever produce a solar powered tactile/talking watch?! Seems frustrating to have to send the thing away to get a battery replaced. And if I carry on at this rate I will waste a lot of money on replacement watches. I like the watch as it has a timer which I use a lot for cooking, etc.I would be interested to hear others' experiences with talking watches.Best wishes, Clive Pallett** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
