Hi, if your in the email you want to reply to just say reply and what you want it to say. If not in the message but it was the last one you received then you can also just say reply and what you want to say. If you want to reply to a specific person then say email whoever you want to email, or reply to whoever. You can also say to display all messages from a certain person. They don't need to be in your contacts if they have sent you a message as it also knows the email addresses from those people you have received email. It's pretty clever so just try different things and experiment. The same applies to text messages etc. You could even say show me the messages I received on Tuesday or from a certain person and it will display all of them.
Siri is contextual so once you've been talking about something, or it has told you something, then you don't need to set the context the next time i.e. if you've just asked Siri about the whether in Leeds, and then want to know something else about Leeds you can just say 'and what about the...' and Siri will assume you mean Leeds still or assume you mean the person you've just been communicating with.

Hi Carol. OK, a couple of things to note. Firstly, the email addresses of the contacts you want to email *must* be stored on your IPhone. If you're using a service like Google mail, Hotmail or other such email provider which stores contacts on a server to which the IPhone isassociated, you'll see those contacts but Siri wont. Secondly, when sending an email to a contact, you caneither reply to the message in the normal way, that is to say hit the reply button while reading the email, or hold down the home button, say "email to john smith" with your message for example. Siri will recite the message back to you and if all is correct, you can instruct Siri to send the message by saying "send message" or similar. I hope this provides a little more incite for you. All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Carol Pearson Sent: Wednesday, November 30, 2011 2:16 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Iphone 4S Although there are some problems with dictation, I think most of mine come from getting Siri to know which email to reply to, and sometimes whether to send a message or email. All clarification gratefully received with some examples if you can. -- Carol P ---- Original Message ---- From: "Ibrahim Gucukoglu" <ibrahim_gucukoglu@xxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, November 29, 2011 7:33 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Iphone 4SHi Carol. There really is no secret to using Siri above what has been said already. When in a text field, use the dictate button on the keyboard to dictate text, speak clearly and try to speak in a complete sentence if at all possible. If you want punctuation in your text, you'll need to say things like full stop, question mark, comma, exclamation mark etc. as Siri doesn't have a detailed profile of your voice like Dragon on the PC would create. I thought he was supposed to learn our style, etc., and I hoped he'd learn some of the words he gets wrong, but I'm not convinced on that right now. Again, I've had some success with queries and of course setting reminders etc., but dictation isn't going as well as I'd hoped. -- Carol P ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
