Sorry for confusing things, Christine, but what I was talking about was the 
folder on the 
Google server which holds the Deleted items - with the US English setting it is 
labelled on 
the web interface as "Trash".  i have my system set up so that once a message 
has been 
downloaded to my POP3 client it automatically goes into "Trash".
