Hi Carol,

You can also, if you want, use filters to apply certain labels to
certain e-mails automatically.  You will find this in settings,
filters.  e.g. I have lots of filters set up so that all my list
e-mail gets labelled with "lists".  Then if I don't want to read list
mail I use the search box to search mail for "-label:lists" so then I
can read just e-mail sent personally to me.
