Hi David,

Equally, my apologies for writing off topic, but Sir Ernest Shackleton is my all time hero. He was a much better leader than Scott.

Yes, I now have South in two audible formats. I was bought a tape copy a few months ago, but the recording quality was terrible. Being a radio ham, I was able to understand it, but nobody else could. Anyway, I signed up with audible.co.uk at the weekend and was able to download an MP3 version as my free download for joining. It's exactly the same recording as the tape, but the quality is excellent. It is a wonderful book!

I have an extensive library of books on polar exploration in print, but now can read them only with difficulty as my vision is deteriorating - age I think!

Cheers,

Brendan.
