I suppose the quickest way would be to have Word automatically boot at start up, but I wouldn't know how to do that. On my last XP machine, I used to have the short-cut to Word set up with a hot key to boot it, which seemed the fastest way then, but I now use the start menu either by searching for the file name in the search or arrowing down once to the Word icon. I can also arrow across to the recent file list from there. Still, if you just want a new document every time, I think setting up a hot key for Word would be the quickest. Hi Everyone In the spirit of "access" I'm wondering how to get the fastest route from turning on my laptop to getting in to a file for making notes. Windows 8 with NVDA For example, can I get a MS Word or text file to automatically open as soon as Windows is loaded?
