So, can you set up all the recordings via the programme also, so that you don't
have this messy situation where (it seems)you have to send a message and it

Ah, I didn’t know that.
We bought a Panasonic TV a couple of years ago as it had speech capability but
it turned out not to be as good as I’d hoped as many features didn’t “talk” and
in the end I just use it as a conventional television.
