Hi Elenor,

No, if you are getting DLA before reaching 65 then you will still get it as long as your circumstances don't change.

I believe I'm right in saying that if you do have to notify DWP of any changes you could end up being put onto PIP.

I stand to be corrected if anyone knows different.

Does that mean that when we are 65 it will be taken away from us?

Hi all,

Jonathan Shaw. He was the one under whose watch we campaigned for higher rate of mobility component of DLA and got it.

Best,
Clive

Hi Sandra and List,

About 4 years ago I receibed my DLA claims history in large print, all 128 pages of A3 paper and I think my postman was off sick with a hernia for a while. The DWP would have known from my details that I'm totally blind, yet they sent this lot in large print.

To cut a long story short, after much badgering on my part, several phone calls and letters later, I received a CD with a letter from the then Minster for Disabled People, Jonathon ?? apologising for their error.

Ever since then I've received all DLA correspongence on CD.

Not so my letters from other DWP departments they still send me letters in standard print.

Well, Jim, you were extremely lucky. I got my D L A letter yesterday in
good old print. I had to scan it to see what it was. No CD's in this
neck of the woods.

Cheers,
Sandra.
