Hello Andy,

Mike Arigo's podcasts can be found on Iblink radio.

I found them very helpful. Also David Woodridge podcast on Applevis.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ed - Meant to say, that I've tried for the Mike Arrigo podcasts on the Mac, but kept getting the dreaded 404 page not found message when clicking the links. I've emailed them, so we'll see -

 Hi Andy,

If you buy a new MacBook Air, it will assume you might want it to talk when you turn it on, so there should be no need to load Voiceover. However, if you do need to load it, you might need to press command fn f5 given that you're using a laptop. If you do, then the fn key is in the bottom left hand corner of the keyboard. Command is where you might expect alt to be.

I've found Mike Arigo's podcasts on the Mac pretty good, they'll either be on www.blindcooltech.com or www.blindgeekzone.com I should think. Some of them are old now, but they're still useful for getting started as well as basic principles.

I'm still not entirely convinced about the ease of use of productivity applications such as word processors on the Mac, but it's excellent for everyday tasks such as Internet, email etc.

 Cheers,

 Ed

 Hi all -

Think I've finally decided to ditch Windows, and JFW in favour of the new MacBook Air. I'd be interested to hear anybody's experiences with this particular laptop, and also some initial tips on getting started, such as getting it to talk to me etc -
