Niall - I've found the answer. Apparently Command F8 will bring up the VO
tutorial -

Thanks Niall - I've just listned to a podcast on

  www.applevis.com

on getting started with the MacBook Air, and on that occasion, the tutorial
didn't come up once VO was initiated. If that happens for me, before doing
anything else, are you able to tell me how to access the tutorial, that is once
I've done the key combination of Command F5? -

    Hi Andy,

I purchased a macbook Air last year as I was tired of Windows machines not
standing the test of time.
Ironically, I was forced to use Windows on the macbook via a programme
called VM ware fusion, as my college uses Windows primarily.
However, this is not to say that there are tasks which can't be completed
on the macbook, it will do everything you need.

If you have an opportunity I would advise visiting a computer store to test
drive the macbook yourself, and see if you are comfortable with its keyboard,
weight, size, etc.
To start voice over, the Mac's screen reader, you will need to hold command
and press F5.
F5 is located on the very top row of keys, and it is the sixth key in from
the left.
Command is located on the very bottom row of keys, and it is the fourth key
in from the left.

Once voice over is activated you will be presented with a fully voiced
tutorial.

I should say that I have read criticisms of voice over requiring some
complicated key combinations, but I feel that voice over is a much easier
screen reader to use.

Feel free to ask anymore questions you may have.

    Kind regards,

    Niall

      Hi all -

Think I've finally decided to ditch Windows, and JFW in favour of the new
MacBook Air. I'd be interested to hear anybody's experiences with this
particular laptop, and also some initial tips on getting started, such as
getting it to talk to me etc -
