I've finally got around to reinstalling DCS and the control for the Spit.
On the positive side, the cockpit is really beautiful. In VR it's much
easier to fly, particularly take off and landing. What used to be quite
hard has become easy.
It still has the overdone out-of-trim at higher speeds, but that's a bit
easier to cope with in VR.
I'm using the 2.7 open alpha, but the frame rates with the Spit are
truly appalling, at least on the Normandy and Caucuses maps. You can
tell the cockpit is a major part of the problem. Every time you look
down it stutters. I can't find setting that produce playable frame
rates, despite looking at the ED forums. Some people claim 90 Hz on a
G2, but it doesn't work for me.
