A couple of weeks ago I travelled to the field/memorial stone to Watson-Watt
where they first detected an aircraft with radio waves. The best bit on the
stone is where the UK GovT had offered £10,000 to anyone who could kill sheep
at 100 yards using a “death-Ray”, happy bygone days, wouldn’t get away with
that now ;)
