OK, I've been told that Fruity Loops might do the job and I seem to remember that somebody on MIDI-Mag had some success with it. It might be worth seeing if they have a demo that you can download and try out. If this one function was accessible enough to use you could do your initial composition using it then export the MIDI for further production on something more accessible. Best wishes.
