Hi Lisa, Good question. I used to always carry a folding cane with me. I
did it in part cuz I did not yet totally believe that a dog would do all the
stuff a cane does and so much more. But, I did find it useful to check the
height of curb, or a real narrow area. I probably should still carry one
for checking out an area where the dog doesn't want to go. But, because of
back problems, I limit what I carry.
