Hi Anthony, I've done it a few times now. With the exception of some profile issues initially, having NT 4 and Server 2000 systems as part of the same XP farm has worked well. The only proviso is that I wouldn't under any circumstances consider upgrading from NT 4.0 to Server 2000 in situ. Always build your 2000 systems from scratch. Of course what you should really do is go straight to Server 2003. Going from NT 4.0 to 2000 is pointless. To date we've seen less problems on 2003 (and more things fixed) than on 2000. Has anyone had any problems? How seamless was the upgrade from NT4.0/MFXP to win2000/MFXP? It's be worth your while to come up wih a strategy for handling separate profiles for the 2 O.S.s. Then you can mix and match. NT 4.0 to 2003 is relatively painless, as long as you don't want to migrate SQL and Exchange as well ;-). I am putting a plan together to upgrade to MFXP. I would like to be able to upgrade the NT 4.0 servers to 2003 with MF 1.8, and then do an MFXP migration. I have over 100 servers to upgrade (myself) - so I have to do this in stages that will not interrupt the business and will be seamless to the users.
