I had a customer drop by this morning asking about a 27" RCA,CTC197. His sound drops out as well. I've heard of many instance of Cable Signals causing Audio Drop-outs,but he said he is on Antenna Only. WinStips has a few tips, (1) Replace C11611 (10uf/16v) C11604 (3.3uf/50v) C11623 (4.7uf Or 10uf Varies By Chassis) All High Esr (2) Problem Wound Up Being On The Little Stand Up Board Beside The Stereo Decoder Ic. I Think That This Is The Srs Board. It Had A Poor Solder Connection On The Socket That Plugs Into The Main Pcb. (3) Cracked Solder Connections On Braces Of The Small Shield On Bottom Of Main Pc Board. Also Check Pins On Flyback & Focus/Screen Controls. (4) Replaced U1600 // Pn 237930 Also C12304 And Cr12301.
