Been a while since I worked on that chasis for that problem but I seem to recall it was very similar to the older 177 chasis, the eeprom becomes corrupted and caused low or no audio. Believe the eeprom for that chasis was a kit with the large processor being changed at the same time. If you have a old chasis laying around try subbing out the eeprom. Sorry so vague.
